The following is a letter from Candy. It is published with her permission. We removed her last name to guard her privacy.
My name is Candy J. I am the lucky person from Canada who has just adopted Louis.
When selecting a kitten it is so important to have first-hand information about the breed you have decided upon and equally important to find a reputable breeder who is in the business not solely for financial gain, but for the love of the breed. I'm sure you feel the same way.
I am an avid researcher and made it my mission to find the breeder that has beautiful kittens and is in it predominantly for the love of the breed. I selected LegendTales as my first pick.
Fortunately, we were able to drive down for a visit in a matter of hours from Vancouver, BC. Our experience with Amy and Tony Mangefeste was so positive. It was blatantly obvious during our initial visit to their home and cattery that these were two people whose lives were centered around their animals. The Pixie Bobs were all so incredibly gorgeous, healthy and well taken care of. I was so impressed at the amount of love, commitment and energy that they both have invested in each individual cat. They have quite a set-up! They've gone to great lengths to make certain that all the cats are secure, properly socialized, and segregated into their appropriate areas to ensure their safety and happiness while they mature and participate in the breeding program.
I met all of Louie's siblings, parents, grandparents, great grandparents, uncles and aunts, etc. They have such sweet and loving temperaments, each of them unique. I could have stayed there for a week. It was such a privilege to spend a few hours surrounded by these beauties. In fact I told Amy that I would love to come and take care of them if she and Tony want to go away for a week or so. I could have happily selected 5 or 6 more to take home with me but that is not a practical move for me at this point!
I have had my sweet boy with me now for 3 1/2 days and I am so in love with him that I can hardly stand to spend any time apart. He spent 10 hours in his travel bag on the way home from Washington and was an absolute doll the entire time!!! I set my alarm 30 minutes earlier than normal so that I can play with him before I leave for work...then I come home to spend time with him on my lunch hour. He is so gorgeous and such a loving, affectionate character all rolled into one. I feel truly blessed! If I were to ever want to purchase another it will definitely be from Amy. She is a kind, loving soul and a beautiful person with great humor. It was difficult for her and Tony to part with Louis. I felt very sad taking him away from them last Sunday. However, I know that they know he will be treasured and loved to pieces by me for the rest of his life.

This guy is just too cute for words and he plays it up as much as he can. He has the most phenomenal face, coat, tail, huge poly feet and we are just in love with him! He has the most amazing rich red color that we have never seen before in a kitten. Most long hairs are black at this age and he already has the wonderful rufus tones! We are keeping both of his sisters so we know we can’t keep him. He is available as an upper end pet or to an established show/breeding program. |
